Miles has been beaten out of three head coaching jobs so far...
Purdue: by Jeff Brohm, head coach at Western Kentucky for two years before being hired
Houston: by Major Applewhite, no head coaching experience before being hired
Minnesota: by P.J. Fleck, head coach at Western Michigan for four years before being hired
So, how does a coach with 15+ seasons of head coaching experience at the Power 5 level, posting a winning record in his last 14 complete seasons and winning 72% of his games overall, three SEC West titles, two SEC titles and one national title lose out on three jobs to three guys who combined don't have any of his experience or hardware at the Power 5 level?
I wish just one of the zillion people who have criticized LSU for firing "a national championship coach" or "the winningest coach in their history", etc. would explain this incredible anomaly to me.
