Read that ABB biography: According to that Clapton was a big ABB and Duane fan. He was recording the D&D albumn in Miami and caught an ABB show and got the idea to get Duane to record with him and approached him then.
That Dominoes Live at Fillmore East is incredible. Used to be out of print for a long time and wore out that LP.
