LSU’s DB commits pitch Todd Harris on making elite secondary class even better

Vincent, Stevens and Delpit had been in Harris’ ear leading up to the Under Armour All-America Game. The time competing in practice together and bonding in between the sessions and game allowed for even more time to sell Harris on LSU.

Delpit, who will arrive on LSU’s campus later this week, spearheaded the efforts.

“We just want him to come be a part of DBU,” Delpit told SEC Country at the Under Armour All-America Game.

“We need as many (defensive backs) as we can to go chase that natty (national title). We need playmakers in the secondary. Me, him, JaCoby could be the best trio that anyone could ask for.”

“Todd would be a major piece to finishing off our secondary class,” said Vincent. “I’d simply ask him: ‘Why wouldn’t you join LSU?’ I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t be able to answer that question. Adding him … that would be great, so I’m still in his ear and I think we definitely have a shot. He listens, so I definitely believe we have a shot.”

“He’s right from the backyard,” said Delpit, the nation’s No. 13 cornerback and a New Orleans native. “I don’t know where else he could go. He can’t pull a Dylan (Moses) and go to Tuscaloosa. Tigers fans, I’m going to get him to LSU.”
