Probably a pipe dream but it would most likely give us a top 5 class and fill a lot of needs.

I know the LBs are still in question. But this scenario would help us badly at the ILB position and allow us to ease up a bit in 2018 in the LB position. I would love to take Willie Gay's word and add Phillips to the class just dk if that will happen.

Added Todd Harris (crazy we would have 3 of the top 15 Safeties in the nation) and dropped Devonta Smith. But I think it could go either way. Or get neither is a possibility too. If for some bizarre reason Chark leaves as well as Dupre then i'd probably add in Smith.

This would give us 27 which is within the limit. Not saying we take this many just saying I believe it is possible.

Every now and again I read in articles or in posts that:

"We have saved all of our OVs(official visits) until after the season."

Does this mean that LSU is going to "legally" have a lot more time and attention to spend on these kids that other teams have already exhausted?

I would love to see the Tigers close out strong and finish with a top 3 (likely top 5) class.

That actually is not an unrealistic class. The long-shots are Allen and Phillips. It's not a given we get either/both of Wilson and Mathis and I hope Shelvin's a sure thing at this point. Chaisson and Gay sound very promising for non-committed prospects.

That haul would be bad arse. That's a future national championship contender type haul.

GREAT list, but overall our class seems to rely on too many 'signing day' announcements which we all know can be dicey. It seems almost every commit we are counting on will make their decision on signing day, so if they don't choose LSU....what is the bump plan? Just concerned it will be very difficult, if not impossible, for us to fill out our 26-27 player class... Trust me, I hope we get them all and keep charging. Just being realistic.

Is there a good chance we land Marvin Wilson?

More than likely only getting 3 of those 8, maybe 4. We don't have a shot with Allen, Harris or Phillips.

The list is realistic, id guess we get 4 of the 5 LA guys (Mathis, Devonta, Harris, Etienne, Allen)
and 2 of the 4 LB's (Gay, Allen, Phillips, Chaisson)

I lifted this interesting Mathis related tidbit from the Bama board.

quote:

Javon Kinlaw says South Carolina leads

Aubrey Solomon, the 5-star defensive tackle from Lee County High School (Leesburg, Ga.), told SEC Country earlier this week that Alabama has a “huge lead” for his commitment. But it’s not all good news on the defensive line front.

Javon Kinlaw, a 4-star junior college defensive lineman, told SEC Country’s Hale McGranahan that South Carolina leads over Alabama for his commitment.

“It’s because of the communication and the relationships,” he said for why the Gamecocks’ lead.

Now, could Kinlaw saying South Carolina leads be linked to Alabama feeling good about where it stands with Solomon and 4-star defensive end LaBryan Ray? It’s very possible. But, there’s also a possibility that Alabama 4-star defensive tackle commit Akial Byers doesn’t end up in the Tide’s class when signing day rolls around. He has some academic issues to work through and Alabama has heard about his poor performance during Under Armour week against top offensive linemen. I, personally, didn’t see Byers win a single rep in practice down in Orlando last week.

So, if Byers does end up not being in Alabama’s class, the Tide will almost certainly replace him with another defensive lineman because the position is arguably the biggest need in the Class of 2017. That’s when Kinlaw and 4-star defensive tackle Phidarian Mathis come into play.

Right now, it’s unclear if Alabama would take Kinlaw. I was told that Mathis is still a “take” for the Tide.

Perfect class finish so not gonna happen but even if we land 5 of those it would be a great class! We land all of them and you know we have a superb recruiting staff.
