That's not happening as long as F. King is in charge. If you haven't realized it by now, then I don't know what to tell you. F. King doesn't give a shite about LSU's athletic dept. His only mission as president is to keep spreading the propaganda that the university is in "dire straits" financially (despite it, like just about every other university, being a bastion of inefficient bureaucratic waste).

Spending "top dollar" on coaches, etc. doesn't mesh with Alexander's message that LSU is broke. Therefore, he's not going to do it, even though financially, the athletic dept. is it's own self sustaining multi-million dollar entity

It's why Miles was retained in 2015
It's why Alleva didn't want to get into a "bidding war" for Herman
It's why Jones was retained after falling flat on his face last season
It's why even if they choose to let go of Jones (yet again, a year too late) the field of candidates will only be those who they can get at a mid-level price.

Alexander doesn't view the athletic dept. as it's own fully functioning business that can serve as a "front door" to your university. He views it as an impediment to his panhandling because paying market value for a top tier athletic program creates bad "optics" when you are trying to pass your university off as a "victim" of misplaced priorities.

Here's a newsflash F.King, TV networks aren't paying billions of dollars to SEC schools to broadcast poli-sci lectures. LSU is one of the few ADs that doesn't suck money away from the academic side. Use it to help you generate funds. Not as some fabricated "boogey man!"
