Does the Army still do Exodus at Christmas?

That is where they stop AIT and Basic Training for two weeks so everyone goes home for Christmas.

They did at Fort Benning a few years ago when my nephew was there. I'm glad mine was straight through. It would be hard as hell to go back to basic after a two week break.

That actually sounds pretty awesome.

That first day back must suck, though. Do the recruits really get thrashed as their welcome back present?

A buddy of mine got 2 weeks off from the national guard basic training so i'd assume so.

I went in 2010 for basic training and we were able to leave.

I'm assuming it's still occurring.
