According to LSU sources, the pursuit of another linebacker will come down to these targets:
•K’Lavon Chaisson
•Markaviest Bryant
•Christopher Allen
•Jacob Phillips

Allen and Phillips are committed to Alabama and Oklahoma, respectively, but both will likely officially visit LSU in January.

The same goes for Chaisson and Bryant, who are expected to be on campus next month, too. Chaisson is the primary target and is being recruited by fellow Houston-area product Vincent. Vincent told SEC Country he’s very confident in his ability to lure Chaisson to Baton Rouge.

Bryant is a sneaky choice to wind up at LSU. Coach Ed Orgeron is leading his recruitment. However, Auburn and Georgia are currently ahead of the Tigers in their pursuit of Bryant

On the Bryant recruiting:

“I love Coach O. He’s the only coach I can really say that coached me when I went to the camp. He showed me a side of coaching with him pushing me. I see that. I really see myself playing there.”

The Tigers trail Auburn and Georgia — for now — but have the opportunity to gain ground on the coveted BUCK linebacker target.

Bryant will officially visit on Jan. 20, a date he has circled on his calendar because of the intrigue of returning to Baton Rouge.

“They’re third, but when I take my official there, you never know,” Bryant said, bluntly.

"I know Coach Orgeron, and Arden Key says it all. I mean, I look just like him.”

Well, Bryant makes a valid point.

Key stands 6-foot-6 and weighs 238 pounds, and also hails from the Peach State. Not too far off from “Big Cat” Bryant.

One other X-factor to keep an eye on is his budding relationship with Johnson.

Orgeron spearheaded Bryant’s recruitment for LSU early on, but has since passed the torch onto the linebackers coach, who made an impactful visit earlier in December.

“He came to Georgia to see me,” Bryant told SEC Country, in reference to Johnson. “It’s a seven-hour drive from where I’m at. Coach Johnson called me last night, and that’s why LSU is in the picture. During the Contact Period, he showed me some stuff, so I’m going to take my official visit to see some things I haven’t seen.”
