Why are americans so fat? This is what most british think of americans. I think as one poster said most of the bad teeth thing belongs with the older generation of the british. Can we say the same for the younger generations of Americans On being fat?

American are fat because we drive to everything whereas the Brits for example still tend to walk, it is changing as the big box stores are starting to take over there as well.

They are just not vain about it like we are. I met an upper middle class British lady who had a tooth missing in a spot that showed. She had no worries about, smiled away, and did not try to hide it.
I imagined some of the American women I know of similar age and class with a a front tooth out. They would not leave their house and would be callling for an emergency dental appointment,

The better question is "why are our poor citizens so fat?" Not just fat but grossly fat in many cases......

Maybe the NHS doesn't pay for cosmetic procedures, which is what dental for the most part is.

60% of Louisiana residents including Baton Rouge still do not have Fluoride water treatment.
