The only real concern I have about the LB group is how obvious the drop off was in the Florida game once Beckwith got hurt.

Beckwith is a Grade A stud, so we definitely dropped off after he was hurt. Of course, Gilmore being on rollerskates most of the time didn't help our cause either.

Yeah I'm not saying that was the only problem in that game. I was just using it to point out that just because the backups will be good college players doesn't mean there won't be a noticeable drop off (maybe only a year) because of how much experience was at the position this season

KB was the most important player on the defense this year IMO and that says a whole heck of a lot with guys like Jamal and White playing like AA first rounders. He was crucial in nearly every successful short yardage and goal line situation. He went sideline to sideline with the best of them. The only player that seems to have his ability is White.

Nobody is going to just jump in there and perform like KB did this year but the youngsters competing for that job could definitely develop into something similar.

I guess what I am trying to say is that Aranda isn't going to be able to plug in the next guy and replace a guy like KB. The most important thing right now is for the DL to step up and not depend on those youngsters like White to have to play at KB's level for the defense to continue to be elite as a whole.
