I think Fournette and Orgeron had a conversation about his health and whether it was in his best interest to get healthy or go out and play less than 100% and risk inhibiting his rehab. He wasn't going to play,

I would find it hard to believe Coach O and any other coach that talked to him wouldn't have advised him jsut to wait 2 weeks

why?

to have LF just hanging around practice seems like a big distraction

so he should sit out practice for 2 weeks and give it a go having not played in a month and a half? Or would it be better to simply prepare for the game as if he would not be available and eliminate potential distractions. If O's job is to think about the team for a game that isn't all that important in the grand scheme, making the decision now is more prudent. Bowl games' such as these #1 importance is the extra practice time and prep you get for next season. Leonard will not be playing for LSU next season, so him playing would be nothing more than a final farewell. I'd rather guys that will be contributing next year to get more carries than having Leonard Fournette in there less than 100% just to appease some of the selfish fans.
