I currently have Cox cable but am about to switch over to another provider. However, I have a bunch of recordings I want to keep before giving the box back. What is the best way to transfer the recordings to my computer or memory stick?

You're sweet. I'd pat you on the head if I could.

They don't make it that easy. Pretty much the only solution is low tech and time consuming. Hook up something like a DVD recorder to your DVR and record the playback.

What's the point of DVRs now a days? Seriously asking. Get an AppleTV or Amazon Fire TV or Roku and it's all on demand at your fingertips.

Why create a headache for yourself when the actual solution is much easier.

I bought an 1gb external hard drive when I had switch boxes. Worked excellent.

Find the USB port on your box and hook your computer up to it. Your recorded videos will automatically transfer.
