Lowe's or HD carry a cheaper version of top products. It all boils down to what you want to spend. Any of the supply houses can ship your products to you and you can get a local plumber or yourself to install. The difference is in the quality of the products and knowledge of the products to better suit and satisfy your application.

This is 100% not true and is a myth created by the showrooms as a sales tactic. Yes, LCR and Coburn's has access to very high quality products that the box stores can't get, ie Brizo, but a Delta model# 123 is the same anywhere you buy it. Now if it's a model# 123a, then there'd be a difference. But model #'s being exact are just that, exact same products. Nobody at a showroom making commission will admit to that though. Some common differences with different model number variances would be a plastic pop up drain vs metal for a lav faucet, or a metal ball joint vs plastic on a shower head (where it swivels). But if you see something on the manufacturers website and price the same model at both places, then go with the cheapest. Now, like I said before, if you want a knowledgeable person to sit down with you and spend 2 hours going through catalogs, go to a showroom. You'll never get that service out of a box store.
