Meridian has that cool spooky old "skyscraper." If you get off the Interstate and drive up to it, it's really depressing because it looks like it's been empty for about 20 years. It still looks neat from the Interstate, though. So, Laurel it is. Jackson may be closing in.

Threefoot building. Sad story, building was completed right in time for the great depression, the Threefoot family that built it went broke. It was the tallest building in Mississippi back then. Wiki page about the building

ETA: the 16 story building was purchased for $10,000 cash in 2016
