They spun Aranda as "he was already here".

How will they spin Coach O going out and getting the only offensive coordinator as a Broyles Finalist?

How will they spin it when Brennan re committee and Akers is on board?

Coach O is killing it right now and that's killing the negeauxs.

If Coach O starts getting the recruits, I'll be happy. All these decommits and LA kids going to Bama are serious problems. It doesn't matter who the coaches are if you aren't getting the talent.

He's not Briles, Riley, Kiffin, take your pick...

He hired what appears to be a solid OC. He deserves all the praise for that.

"Killing it" might be a bit strong at the moment though. We did just lose 3 (probably 4) very important defensive recruits and a top QB.

You mean 2 that weren't coming here anyway? And he did flip a LB from FSU.

Nobody is spinning anything. There have been a ton of negatives following the hiring of O. Arranda and Canada are great positives though and cause for optimism. Hopefully now that there is stability in the coaching staff the recruits will fall in place.

Nobody is going to say those are bad things. They still need to happen though.

He's shored up his staff in a very good way. "Killing it" would be filling up the rest of our class with top OL, DL, and LB recruits. Along with Brennan and Akers.

I think most have given credit where it is due. Canada looks like a strong hire on all fronts.

Orgeron is still the HC though. If anything this increases expectations for him. I had 9-3 as a minimum acceptable record. With this hire, that has to be bumped up to 10-2.

What I want to know is why did they make an OC hire before the bowl game when O specifically said he would wait? Guys like me were saying that waiting was a mistake. O supporters that think everything he does is correct said waiting was the right move.

Lo and behold, he actually makes a hire before the bowl game, which I believe is a tacit acknowledgement that waiting would've been the incorrect move, as I and many others critical of O's process had said all along. When are O supporters going to admit they were wrong?

Well for starters, Ill say its a good hire. However, it could have been made 2 weeks ago and quelled some negativity with the program. Instead of waiting on Kiffin to take the worst job in CUSA for half the money LSU was going to pay him.

How about calling negatives negatives, and calling positives positives?

I'm definitely not sold on O, but this OC hire and keeping Aranda are positives. If they reel in Brennan, Narcisse, and some good LBs, those will also be positives. O needs all the good news he can get, but ultimately, the biggest thing he can do to silence negativity is win an SEC Championship and go to the playoffs.

ETA: You're going to have to wait until the results play out on the field for at least one season to see who was "right."

I like the hire because Canada will need to stay in one place for at least a couple of years doing great things to be considered a major college HC candidate unlike some of the others that have been floated.
