Political Consultant's effect on voting

So I am curious and actually in debate with a couple of people. Does the hiring of a certain political consultant matter when it comes to voting for a particular candidate? Does the fact that Scott Angelle, Charles Boustany, Trey Baucum, or Bodi White used Timmy Teepell and the rest of Jindal's crew matter when you are deciding who to vote for? Does the fact that Vitter and Jeff Landry's consultants were involved with John Kennedy, Mike Johnson, or Clay Higgins?

Boustany's consultant was from Jackson, MS.
A good consultant can help an average candidate become more focused. A great candidate with a good story is much more important than having a good consultant as long as the story gets told.
Scott Angelle wasn't a good Congressional candidate. He was propped up by several million from one person during the Governor's race and when he ran for Congress, he had to rely more on the Kathleen Blanco crowd that is dying by the day.
Higgins was a great story in a year of the outsider.
Had JBE not been considered an outsider, he wouldn't have won either and when he runs for re-election will get his arse handed to him by Jeff Landry.
