No one has been more critical of Alleva than me, going all the way back to last year. Ultimately I agree with you, but don't pretend O was some kind of innocent bystander pushed into the spotlight unwittingly.

He saw this potential opportunity coming when he signed on here in 2015 and even before that was lining up local radio and media people in his year off to get behind him as the people's choice if he was ever in the interim position.

He did and said everything behind the scenes to set the stage for this completely improbable situation to play out, regardless of whether or not he would be able to do the things he was promising.

And he absolutely would have tucked tail and run to Bama if his plan failed and the job went to someone else despite his nonstop declaration of love for LSU and Louisiana.

I don't blame him per say, because he was just looking out for himself and his family, but he certainly was not some passive guy just trying to be there for LSU in her time of need.

The dude conned the shite out of Joe Alleva, not very hard to do, but he did it and he deserves just as much blame as Alleva if he fails to live up what he sold himself as.

In my opinion, of course.
