September 1992 @ Jones Creek McDonalds. I was a 16 yr old new employee. It just made sense to me to give everyone ordering fries a few packets of ketchup.

The manager overheard me and I got my first lesson on staying in school from the 'real world'. He wasn't mean about it, he was seriously trying to educate me so I appreciated that nugget of how fricked fast food managers' incentives were/still are.

"If I give out 2 ketchup packets to every customer... it'll cost me over $200 a month food cost...I won't get my bonus..."

Present Day: I know that the Valuzzo McDonalds(BR Area) drive-thru employees are instructed to give one jelly per breakfast sammich when you ask for it. None if you don't.
