re: Bad hunting accidents

Was 14 and went dove hunting with mothers boyfriend. Sitting about 50 yards apart and we had already talked before that we will not shoot at any low birds. Low bird came between us and he shot directly at me. Had about 20 pellets in the legs and hand. Had all but three pulled out of my hand. Still have those there

About ten years ago was hanging a brand new lock-on for the wife to hunt in. Got up there and ratcheted the stand to the tree. Stepped off the sticks onto the stand and it wasnt secured. Dumped me 20 feet onto the ground. Luckily she was right there to help me. Knocked me silly and broke my pelvis. I pulled all the slack out of the ratchet before I started ratcheting and it never had a chance to catch. Dont know how I would have gotten out of there had she not been there.

Got a few phone calls from some old friends who were now attorneys Told them it was 100% my fault but they didnt care. That did end up costing me quite a bit of money for medical care in the long run
