The gentrification in NOLA is something all cities should work towards. Of course, not all cities get a clean slate in certain areas like NOLA did because of Katrina but it can be accomplished. There are parts of Lake Charles that are slowly gentrifying and that will probably speed up as a new development that is going up in a questionable part of town continues to progress.

Stout- I see gentrification happening in LC in some of the prettier parts, but what is the "new development "? Are you talking about one large project?

So all cities should displace lower income families and small businesses? Isn't that creating another problem which will eventually lead to the same fricking issue?

Gentrification is a process of renovation and revival of deteriorated urban neighborhoods by means of influx of more affluent residents, which results in increased property values and the displacing of lower-income families and small businesses.

I find it funny the people in these areas complain nobody invests in their area and as soon as they do, they complain because the cost of living goes up.
