I should clarify. I previously had a different Surface docking station but exchanged it 3 days ago, along with my SP4.
So all in all, I have a "new" SP4 and docking station. I never tried logging into my router with previous equipment, so I can't say for certain that my old equipment would have worked.
I'm anxious to try my adapter that should here any minute from now.

I've been reading up and it seems quite a few people have had connection issues with the docking stations (although it was all connectivity being lost when docked).
