thats not alot of space. its basically a small hallway.

WTF??

The spent casings from a semi auto firearm easily eject out to a distance of 10'. Especially when they bounce around off of hard objects like metal auto fenders, glass and concrete and especially when fired from the height of a 6'6" man or however tall he was.

Also he may have shot W. Smith while standing at the front of his own vehicle since he may have been inspecting the damage from the collision. Spent casings may have ricocheted off of Smiths vehicle.
