Your whole argument sounds like the typical "well, he didn't really rape me, but my false accusation still raises awareness to the rape culture on campus" bullshite.

I think it's probably bullshite. But for the media to dismiss it offhand without investigating, while referring to unproven allegations as fake, is unsettling to me.

ETA: I'm not a @#pizzagate guy.
But that is more out of an attitude of "I hope it's not true" than due to evidence.
I would be absolutely sick if #pizzagate turned out to have any contact with truth.
