Most people from Louisiana probably don't understand how popular Jim and Tammy Bakker were. Y'all had brother Jimmy Swaggart down here. But Jim and Tammy were celebrities. Royalty. They took religious broadcasting to new heights. I grew up in NC... their theme park, Heritage USA, was like a scaled-back Dollywood.
