Standards were significantly lower for ULL when I was applying years ago. I applied as a safety just in case I didn't get accepted to LSU. I was instantly accepted for ULL as soon as I hit submit because a 23 in the math section of the ACT (IIRC) was all that was required. I needed to have a 27 ACT minimum to be accepted to LSU because I had a really shitty GPA in high school.

I think it was a 21/3.0 for LSU in 2002. Ole Miss was something ridiculous like an 18 and 2.5.
I appreciated the low gpa/high ACT acceptance thing LSU did, but my poor performance in HS carried over to college. GPA should be weighted more heavily IMHO

USL was open admission when I started there in the 90s

LSU and UL's AC automatic ACT admission requirement is now identical at 22-23. I think UL gives more leeway to GPA, that's about it.
