But nothing that's "movie on demand" or VOD is ever DTS sound through an AppleTV or Amazon FireTV or even Xbox One S, is it? It would only be a Ultra HD Movie (CD), right?

ETA: After having read that link, I think I'd be ok as I'd plug the optical out into either the Amazon Fire TV or the Xbox One S in our den. However, there lies my final problem... multiple devices all going to the Playbar. This may be what is a deal breaker.

The whole point of me going to sonos and possibly ditching my receiver is for ease of use for myself but mainly my family. I don't want them to have to use another remote or physically get up and change a HDMI or Optical Switch from "Source 1" or "Source 2" everytime they'd go back and forth from the Amazon Fire TV to the Xbox One S, etc.

If that makes sense...
