if just using as rears in a dolby setup, absolutely. You dont need much for rear sound

Yea, was thinking that. Trying to figure out priority on my purchasing of the modular speakers. My issue is I currently already have a receiver and a 7.1 setup. What I find it 7.1 is useless 99.999999% of the time for me with kids. My 4 ceiling speakers are in ceiling and not my favorite and my kids crawl and mess with the receiver all the time.

I literally want to sell my receiver and go the sonos route but it's expensive. No it may not give me the 100% best sound but most of the time we watch TV it's sports or New Girl or something with the wifey.
I thought about ditching the receiver and buying the Connect:AMP and just hard wiring the 4 ceiling speakers into the 2 speaker ports but hesitant.

Someone guide me!!
