Do you disagree? I mean crazy shite can happen and their are fricked up deals within the system, but the basis is that they have to prove you're guilty. You don't have to prove you're innocent.

Growing up black in Louisiana has taught me that your guilty until proven innocent. My uncle is twenty years in on a forty year sentence on a murder he didn't commit.

To be fair, cops are jaded enough to believe everyone is guilty.

I am acquainted with a long time public defender (who just happens to be a black female) and I asked her once, point blank, "Have you ever lost a case with an innocent client?" She said, "No." Another PD was involved in the conversation and they both agreed - maybe there was some disagreement between how deeply involved the client was, but every conviction or guilty plea they participated in was of a guilty person.

The 2 of them had 30+ years of experience at the time of the conversation, so you're talking thousands of cases.
