Les Miles was a standup guy, remember that poor kid with cancer over in Alabama that he corresponded with? That didn't keep him employed, despite the best record ever at LSU, and they almost fired him during a disastrous... 9-3 season.
Orgeron has dirt on his hands from some of the Miami and USC scandals. Not "rape" dirt, but we really don't know what all occurred and was hushed, do we? We just know what the media tells us.
Briles- it's an iffy thing. It's a terrible accusation, but look at it from a distance. Baylor, freaking Baylor of all places, suddenly emerges from below the depths of Vanderbilt/Kentucky mediocrity, and starts dominating the Big 12 and setting all sorts of records.
Do you NOT believe that Briles was given a mandate to bring in the best players he could, regardless of character? To not interfere with the system once it got rolling? To "leave the players alone", and not hurt the program?
Now, shite got out of hand, but I'm pretty sure that lack of institutional control was the order of the day, coming from the Board of Directors. It sadly was a natural progression.
