not quite. too much homegrown talent to fall that far off. advancements in media over the last two decades helped a lot of schools and hurt a lot of schools.

So many have said to me, "stop feeling down" and "LSU will soon be an elite program again." But, I cannot help but feel we are entering a rather dismal time. Even the most successful teams in collage football have peaks and valleys.

Coach O may (or may not) prove to be a winner. That verdict is down the road. But the hiring process itself was a joke. LSU and its fans were rightly expecting an honest and legitimate search. If that had been done, far fewer would be railing against Alleva and far more would be satisfied with Orgeron. The LSU fanbase is left deeply divided.

When Miles exited, we were already declining as far as wins and loses. Until now we have only been walking down the path that Tenn. has traveled many years. The failures of Joe Alleva push LSU ever faster and ever further down the dismal path.
