I'm not getting ripped off, I've had multiple places give me an estimate and I'm going with the cheapest. My car has a lot of damage and I only liability insurance.

I was thinking mechanical repair not collision. In that case I would do the smallest/cheapest amount of repair possible to get the car roadworthy. Driving around an ugly car for a while is a lot better than taking a very high risk loan. I know you are in a tough spot but just make sure you exhaust all your options before going to a loan shark.

Then it is a sunk cost. Go get a different car. So to one of those places that deal in bad credit, like JD Byright. You will pay $16000 for a car worth $5500.
