You could be right, and I hope you are.

I'm kind of a "words have meanings" guy, and it frustrates me when people say "OH! HE SAID 'XYZ," but when you read the actual words, they say nothing of the sort and are highly ambiguous. But the narrative is quickly set and oft repeated.

They're all taking the same exact event and seeing it through their own biases. Some base their reporting on what they expected to hear, some what they want to hear, others maybe exactly as they see it. It really leads to a complete melting pot of contradictory information. It just proves how very easy it is to mislead or twist stories.
