From what I saw and heard talking to him - yes. Not sure where I mentioned it, but the two most football technically savvy coaches I have had the opportunity to meet and listen to are Aranda and Herman. I'd put Aranda #1 - dude is like a football genius and Herman a close second.
Then to the part that folks around here probably wouldn't like - I liked O's presentation better than Mcelwain or Butch Jones. Mason from Vandy was pretty solid, I'd slide him ahead of O. Les was good but him and Mcelwain both felt more like drinking buddies than football savvy folks.
But yeah far and away the two smartest coaches I have personally met are Aranda and Herman (funny that I held that opinion and didn't know they were roommates in college or so I saw in another thread)
