I like the game so far but it doesn't really feel like an FF game.

One thing yous might wanna try is switching the control presets on the pause menu to type B or C

I switched to C and it was worlds better imo. I've seen quite a few players say that the default controls are by far the worst of the 3. Attacking/airsliping with R2 feels natural and you can easily switch weapons mid combo.

Circle for ally commands and square for items+R1 for map are great too.

Is there a way to wait for night for hunter missions? I was told there was a way, but do you have to download the day one patch first?

I don't know if you have to download the patch but when I took a night hunt mission the next prompt was "this monster only comes out at night do you want to wait here till night". You may have accidentally clicked passed it. Try aborting it then redoing it.

Yeah, the great FF entries all succeed at world immersion. 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10 explained the world to you. 12 was pretty good at it. 13 didn't. I'm not far enough in to make any judgments, but I stopped after chapter 1 and so far I don't really know the details on the world I'm exploring and since there's no fish out of water character, I don't know that 15 will do that.

I don't know wtf I'm doing in combat and I can barely keep up with where my character is on screen. Doesn't help that all the main cast look the same.

If things get hectic just warp away or use wait mode to slow things down

If you really want to you can equip some casual outfits

I think it explains how the conflict occurred(it's a scenario akin to older FF games with the crystal and has some ffxii thrown in) and what's expected of characters like luna pretty well

There are lore items around the world as well

I just watched kingsglaive

If I get more of that, I'm going to be a happy customer. I don't like multimedia story telling but it will do.

fricking Sean bean every damn time

Just finished as well. Was fun, but will hold judgement after I finish the game to determine if it was really even needed to be made. Maybe it was just a crucial part they couldn't fit into the game or just a quick cash grab or hype machine.

Like was this necessary or will I be salty that I didn't get to play the game for the first time tonight because I felt obligated to watch it. Prolong my 10 years to another fricking day why don't you square.

This game has kinda took over the last few days. I am currently level 33 with 18 hours in with all the main quest in chapter 3 left. Glad to have had this week back in Tuscaloosa before I have to go back to Germany.

I'm level 10 sidequesting in chapter 1 and it seems like the best way to get ap is cooking still haven't unlocked fishig

I LOVE wait mode it makes the game as if you have a time freeze ability and you can change weapons and techniques mid battle and turn impossible battles into winnable contests with superb choices.

It's like you're a time stopping prince-general. 5 stars.

I think a game that has been in development for 10 years has a lot of discarded ideas...and I would bet a lot of money this movie is full of them

just a quick cash grab

I don't know, but I doubt the movie made the money to justify the cost of hiring aaron paul, sean bean and lena headey...and all of them gave fricking top notch voice performances too the supporting cast...eeeeh not so much

The game has already sold 5 million. I think they said they need to sell 10 million I hope they get there to make up for their development hell.

Any suggestions for character builds? I'm lost on the AP system.

Get Ignis's ReGroup technique ASAP.. it's great for healing the party..

I've been pretty willy nilly with it just trying to figure out how I play and kind of what I need adjusting to that. For instance I haven't dropped anything in the magic tree at all. And like I was fighting a daemon and surrounded by imperials so I quickly went and added the warp strike to break daemon's appendages skill off the combat tree to give me a little edge real quick.

I'd suggest Roadrunner, Chocobump (the one for riding not racing), and whatever the camp one is for getting AP for driving, choco riding, and camping.

^^disclaimer: I'm no skill tree master

In the first area, I ran into a dungeon. What lv is it safe to go in there?
It is like a mine or something.
