The league has always had a history of replacement QBs go on a nice run, break the bank in free agency, than regress to their normal selves.

I don't know about that. The guy is under talented. His release is extremely slow.
I know that QBs are scarce, but this wasn't a guy who has potential to become a top QB, IMO. In fact, I think Siemian has more upside.
