Seems like he needs a mobile QB. Don't see DE fitting in. Would have to resurrect Harris or start a Freshman in Scott.

And the issue is? DE isn't special.

You are stupid. HERMAN doesn't have "an offense". He runs what ever his players are best at.

His offense at OSU was completely changed when their qb changed. That's what is different about him. He's not married to doing it one way.

you think? while i'm ok with that in a way, it does pigeon hole his offense; shut down the QB and game over. he did it to Louisville.

a lot of these spread first teams are not multifaceted. they may spread the D out but they overly depend on one player. I think a well run multiple offense, one that can indeed spread the field but also present a very strong ability to run the football is the best of both worlds. it also allows for changing the pace of the game with long clock consuming drives.

Houston rushed 33 times for 64 yards last night.
That is not going to get it done in the SEC.

At Ohio State he lost an all-American caliber starting QB to season ending injury in preseason. Plugs in the backup QB who ended up finishing 5th in Heisman voting, but gets hurt at the end of the regular season. Plugs in the 3rd string QB who leads them to wins in the Big 10 title game, semi-final, and NC game.

I think Herman has shown he can adapt his offense to be successful around different QB's.

Scott would be a beast in Herman's offense. Look at what all the true freshmen QBs are doing in the SEC just this year

Hurts 10-0 - 2032 pass yards (64.2%) 16 TDs 7 ints, 735 rush yards 11 TDs

Bentley 3-1 - 835 pass yards (67.3%) 6 TDs 1 int,

Patterson 1-0 - 338 pass yards (59.5%) 2 TDs 1 int, 64 rush yards

Eason 6-4 - 1962 pass yards (54.5%) 11 TDs 5 ints, 1 rush TD

And these are true freshmen. For reference Eason, statistically the worse one here, is on pace for 2550 pass yards and 14 pass TDs. That's on par with Mett as a redshirt junior and better than both Harris and Jennings (both sophomore starters).

With the talent LSU has coming back on offense, and what new talent we bring in, Herman would be like a kid in a candy store. Scott with Guice utilizing RPOs and read option, would be freaking deadly.
