Wix - not overly expensive, widely regarded as premium quality, and American made (at least I think they're still made in NC)

Nope, never again. Filters have a built in relief valve. Installed one of my truck. What happen was that pressure built up in the crank case and blew out oil the engine crank shaft seal. Thank God it didn't do any damage, but made one hell of a mess.
Fram only now. Yesterday I service a bunch of equipment that cost me $400 for oil and filters.
