What era would "jam up" be in? As in, "Boudreaux sure does make a jam up jambalaya!". I recently heard someone use that term and did a double take.

back when my dad and mom first married, he had convertible that he took to wynn trim in west monroe for a new top. two guys went to look at the car and one told dad he could give him a "jam-up" top for $xx. 20 year old dumb blonde mom asked "what's a jam-up top?

dad noticed the other guy go around the corner to avoid laughing in her face.

so, jam up is 1949ish?
