I don't think LSU does much to shape the political leanings of East Baton Rouge Parish. If anything, it probably pushes it more right of center than it would be without it. It certainly wasn't what pushed the Parish to Hillary over Trump.

One other thing to note. Because Alabama changed their residency laws, they made it to block out of state students from getting residency and getting instate tuition. This is the reason I have never been a resident of that state and I would have to go home to Ga. Add in the rest of out of state students and that sways the county pretty drastically.
