Hard to say.
Rubio as he is currently perceived: probably no protests.
Rubio after 8 months of general election lambasting from the media: probably perceived as a white supremacist (even though he's Cuban) and protests might happen.

This is such a good point. People often sited the different candidates that supposedly would have easily beaten Hillary according to polls. But all of those candidates hadn't been drug through the mud like Trump.

This is my point. The media has made Trump out to be the bogeyman (or literally Hitler). I would assume the media would be hammering him on something
