Preemptively trading Davis is not going to happen, but if you were, this year would be a good time to do it.

A combination of Philly and Boston do.

Boston gets AD
Philly gets Jaylen Brown and Isaiah Thomas (or whatever trading those can bring back that Philly wants)
NOLA gets Okafor, the Brooklyn 1st from Boston and the worse of the Laker/Philly 1st from Philly.

The Pels get a young core of Buddy/Diallo/Okafor and 3 likely top 5 picks. If you're going to start over that's a pretty good start.

Danny Ainge steals CP3 from Doc in FA and the Celtics become instant contenders with CP3/AD/Horford.

Philly gets more assets to build around Embid and Simmons.

That sounds too good and logical to work out. The Pelicans will suck the next three seasons even with Davis. I would get ahead of sucking the next 6 by trading away Davis before 3.

Start the build now. Not three seasons from now IMO. Saving your franchise essentially.

Bad bad basketball will not be tolerated in NOLA as it will in Philly by the NBA.

Absolutely not. If we were getting Brown and Thomas too, then maybe.
I would rather 4 more years of AD than that. Could probably get that in 3 years if we wanted to.

Although highly unlikely, 3 top 5 picks in this draft could do some damage.

None of that matters unless you burn the front office to the ground and rebuild that first.
