don't know how anyone can not want the guy as the head coach. His personality and approach is great and the team has played pretty damn good under his coachin

Is any other program going to interview him after the season? "

you say this in a way to suggest it's absurd doesn't make it any less true. That's like saying "derr They said the ocean is blue! The sun rises in the east!" as if it isn't true. Love the guy, want him around LSU as long as possible, but LSU should try to get the best coach available. He isn't the best coach available by any objective measure.

Bill Belichik was 36-44 in his stint as head coach of the Cleveland Browns. He was 5-11 in his final year. Five years later, he got a second chance with the New England Patriots. He went 5-11 in year one and since then 2001-date has never had a losing record, has won 13 of 15 AFC East titles, and four Super Bowl championships.

Belichick was preceded in New England by a guy named Pete Carroll. Carroll was head coach of the Jets for one disastrous season in 1994, going 6-10 and losing his last five games. He got a second shot with Patriots and started well but missed the playoffs in year three and lost his job. He then went to USC, went 97-19 with one national championship, and finished in the top 5 rankings for seven consecutive years. He then went to Seattle where he has gone 64-37-1 with three division titles, two Super Bowl appearances and one Super Bowl championship.

Not saying O is either of these guys. Just saying that failing at a head coaching gig ten years ago is no reason to deny him a shot today if he continues to prove out he can coach the Tigers to victory.

Yea, lets base what he can do in 2017 as a head coach on what he did 10 years ago

I think he has gained experience through the years to become better. Not saying he is my #1 choice for a head coach, but saying that I bet he is not the same head coach today as he was 10 years ago.

He's come along way and matured since then. You don't have to be a detective to figure that out.
