They make a paper nest and they are a PITA to get rid of. You could try to plug up the hole with something like putty at night or mix up some strong bug spray in a gallon pump sprayer, stick the nozzle in the hole and spray. Do that at night only too!

I had to use gas three times to rid a nest out of razor grass, but I don't think I would do that to my house.
