This^. I don't see any reason to get some super expensive round that is hard to find. If you're worried about recoil just put a big ole muzzle brake on it.

And if it concerns you too much just get a 260 upper or a 6.5mm barrel and you get a little bit of recoil reduction.

Remember, 260 Rem and 308 Win shoot from the same parent case (308 Win).

Other 308 parent cases:

22-250 (5.56mm bullet)
243 Win (6mm bullet)
260 Rem (6.5mm bullet)
7mm-08 (7mm bullet)
.308 Win (7.62mm bullet)
