6.5 Grendel. I've owned 2 300 blackouts in an AR platform and now I own a Grendel. Mine has an 18" barrel and it's extremely accurate. Like scary accurate. I currently have a red dot on it because I plan on carrying it through the woods while my 6.5 creedmoor is strapped to my back pack. The 300 blackouts were nice and did well within 200 yards but I wanted to be able to reach out farther if needed (kind of pointless now that I have a red dot on the Grendel). I haven't killed a deer with it yet but I feel like it won't be much different as for the effectiveness from my creedmoor. The creedmoor is a beast on deer and hogs, so I expect the same from the Grendel. If you're around Baton Rouge, you're more than welcome to shoot my Grendel and see how you like it or let your boy shoot it. Recoil is comparable to a 223 ar.
