Schmidt & Bender, US Optics, NightForce, Swarovski...you can spend thousands on any one of their glass tubes.

Zeiss HD5, Swarovski Z3, Meopta Meostar, Leupold VX6 are all good mid range glass around $1000-$1,300. Leupold is great glass for the money if you are looking in the $450 to $700 range for a VX3 type glass.

The dude above me named some of the best and you can buy but run cost upwards of 4K for a scope.

Just never, ever look through a scope that is out of your price range and you won't know what you are missing and will be happy with what you have

S&B, Swarovski, Nightforce, US Optics, if money is no object. I would probably take a Z8 over anything right now, will grab one soon.

Meopta Meostar is you want to stay in the 1200-1500 range

Meopta Meopro if you want to stay below 1000

Depends on what you want. Some brands dont focus on hunting scopes, some brands don't focus on tactical scopes.

For example, the vortex gen 2 razor 4.5-27 is an exceptional piece of glass. However, it weighs like 2 pounds and while not a bad choice for hunting there are a crap ton of other scopes that are much lighter in weight that are more suited to hunting.
