I pointed out in that thread what Dr. Baker and LSU administration said--that conditions for LSU obtaining a live tiger mascot are different and more challenging in 2016 than they were 20 years ago or even in 2007, when Mike VI arrived.
Alexander and LSU higher ups have stated their intention to get another tiger, for which I am glad. This was not known before Mike VI's cancer spread.
Could the difficulty regarding getting a tiger from a reputable rescue hinder the search and could LSU fail to obtain another mascot? Possibly. I hope not.
