After years of threatening to cut funding to the A-10 program and funnel the money to the newer F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, the Air Force seems to have finally faced facts — the A-10 is just too effective to get rid of.
Air Force Materiel Command chief Gen. Ellen Pawlikowski recently told AviationWeek that the depot line that maintains and repairs the Air Force's 283 A-10s has been reopened to full capacity.
“They have re-geared up, we’ve turned on the depot line, we’re building it back up in capacity and supply chain,” said Pawlikowski. “Our command, anyway, is approaching this as another airplane that we are sustaining indefinitely.”

The A-10 was never going anywhere. Once the USAF says they don't want to fly it, the Army can (per agreement) and absolutely will.
So, USAF will continue to fly the A-10 as long as it is a viable platform the Army would be willing to fly.
Bluff: [CALLED] NOT_CALLED
Murica. frick yeah!

YAY
Stagnant pay raises, paying in for Tricare Prime, further retirement pay cuts, more benefits being removed, lessened BAH rates, further degrading COLA in the near future, and cutting mil to mil bah.
The money has to come from somewhere, and incentive cuts are the continual go to.

Used to see them flying around all the time as a kid when England AFB was still operating. Sombs would buzz you at times.

Aside from the F-15, A10 is the most badass plane in the AF. It must strike terror in the hearts of the enemy to see that thing bearing down on them!
