Jimbo Fisher, Tom Herman, Chip Kelly, Chris Peterson, Justin Fuente, and Larry Fedora would all have to say "no" (more than once), before I considered Orgeron. Even then, P.J. Fleck would be a pretty intriguing name that I would consider hiring over Orgeron.

Orgeron seems like decent man and I admire his passion, but I don't consider him any less of a risk than any of the names I mentioned - I, also, don't believe he has as high of a ceiling either.


I don't want to see LSU go the way of Texas, USC, Michigan (who is fortunate that Harbaugh fell into their lap), Alabama (pre-Saban), or Tennessee. We have come too far as a program to hand the keys over to someone like Orgeron, without doing our best to hire someone better first.
