Hurts running is my biggest concern as well, and not just on passing downs. He runs the zone read really well. Could use a spy on him. Also, I'm sure our dline will be told not to get out of their lanes and lose containment. Make Hurts sit in the pocket and throw it downfield.
Will be fun to see what Aranda comes up with.

As much as I want Key to make his 20 sacks, in THIS game I think we should focus on squeezing the pocket down on him from both sides instead of penetrating for a sack. Lane discipline is a must, and penetration attacks mean a lane is potentially open for Hurts to escape through.
If we want to pressure Hurts, it should come from Adams or some other blitzer. As others said, I'll believe Hurts can beat us deep with his arm when I see him do it. Until then, squeeze his pocket up into his armpits, leave no running room for him or anyone he hands off to, and make him prove he can do something through the air that he hasn't done all year.

quote:LSU has stifled a more explosive running QB than him in the past in Johnny Football. I know that this is a different defense, but the one constant that remains about LSU defenses is the athletes they get to play them. They are big, strong and key word here is "fast" athletes that get after you. NFL athletes that are hard to run on. They will get after Hurts!

He is big and fast kinda similar to Cam Newton.
Cam Newton - 6'5" - 250
