Decision Making: A-
This right here is the most important. Harris had the talent- arm strength and running ability were there. Hell, he trucked a dude over on a long arse run against Sam Houston on a long touchdown run when he was tiny as hell as a freshman. Think they got so caught up in having to complete passes they forgot about this as an extra option for defenses to account for. Wisconsin interception last play is a perfect example of decision making. With tons of room and only one dude remotely near the flat he made the wrong decision.
Etling steps up in the pocket cleanly and doesn't retreat or flush our immediately. If he sees daylight he takes what they give him for five yards here or there. Or 10. Didn't he keep the final auburn drive alive on a third down with one? Ain't afraid to take a hit. Even though it's dangerous you gotta believe his teammates see that he gives everything out there. How could you not step up your level of play when someone is giving that effort? He didn't go to the bench to pout after his fumble that game either. Kept his head together for the next possession.
Etling ain't perfect, but the dude is a fricking G. I had close to no we'd actually drive far enough to win on the final drive against auburn. But he was clutch in those moments, and proved he could handle the stage. He's the best we got at the moment. So support him, or gtfo. And if Harris has to play in relief, let's hope he's done his homework and is ready to prove himself with a second chance.
Let's fricking ride
